WECNY was founded by a diverse group of women who identified the need for an organization focused on advancing women executives and bridging the gap between women and men in the boardroom. We see New York as the venue for this new paradigm.

We began to measure this progress with our census, 2007 New York Census: The State of Women Business Leaders in New York State, the first of an annual series of census studies to be published on the state of women in corporate execuitve positions of New York's top 100 public companies. In February, we will roll out the 2009 New York Census: The State of Women Business Leaders in New York State, which has been updated and contrasted with the results of our 2007 census.
