WECNY was founded by a diverse group of women who identified the need for an organization focused on advancing women executives and bridging the gap between women and men in the boardroom. We see New York as the venue for this new paradigm.

We measure this progress in our census study, 2007 New York Census: The State of Women Business Leaders in New York State, the first of annual series of census studies to be published on the state of women in corporate execuitve positions of New York's top 100 public companies.
